A license under the Surveyors' In«titute and Board pi Examiners' Act, 1908, has-been issued to Mr Gerald F. Martin, of Masterton. The members of the Legislative Council yesterday wished "God ■speed" to the Hon. J. Sinclair, who is leaving the Dominion to take part in the deliberations of the Imperial Trade Commission.

At tHe Church of the Sacred Heart at PeUne on 'Wednesday, Mr Archibald Smith, of the Pacific Cable Companv. Auckland, son of Mr Joseph Smith, J'.P., of Eketahnna was married to Miss Kate Silva, daughter of Mr J. Silva.
A London cable states tTiat tho Morning Post says it is improbable that Sir John Fuller, Uoyernor M Victoria, will return to Victoria. It is feared that health reasons wilt compel him to resign the Governorship. Mr W. H. Taylor, for. years past attached as orchard supervisor to the hmh Furm &* Weraroa, Levin, has been promoted to the sole charge of the Arataki Experimental Farm, Hawke's Bay. Before leaving Levin, Mr and Mrs Taylor were entertained by locarresidents, who made presentations to them.
