The weather was fine until late in the afternoon, when a heavythunderstorm- caused a general natter. All the live stock shown is m excellent condition, and the cattle entries far exceeded those of Tast'yearOut of a field of 27 in the hunters' competition, Mr H. W. Breaker's Utility was the winner. Miss R. Chapman's Regail was second, and Mr J. D. SmiiTFs Rufus thirdTHeavy rain is falling to-night, and the prospects are bad for "People's Day." I The available c-liampionsliips are as follows:—Single Harness horse: C. Dirkley Heavy draught stallion: Hon. J. D. Ormond (Has tings). Mare: Mr E. Short. (Feilding), Clydesdales: Donald .Estate (Feat-herston). Cattle.—Shorthorn bull, Mr G. A. Turner; Hereford bull Mr E. Short; Ayrshire cow with calf, W, P. Harris; Holstein-Friesian cow, W. I. Lovelock, also bull. Sheep—Lincoln ram, W. Perry (Masterton); ewe, Hon. J. D. Ormond; English Leicester ram, Mr S. R. Lancaster, also ewe; Border Leicester ram, Mr G. V. Peartre; ewe, Hon J. D. Ormond; Shropshire ewe, Mr G. L. Southdown ram, Messrs Ellis Bros; ewe, Messrs Nelson Bros.
