TO-DAY'S WEATHER.
NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. 0. Bates, of the Meteorological office, last evening wired as follows: — The atmospheric depression centred to the suoth-westward has intensified considerably and strong northerly, and westerly winds have prevailed. Rain has fallen in many parts and unsettled conditions have ruled. Present indications are for boisterous and unsettled weather, with rain generally; heavy in many parts. Strong west to south-westerly winds probable northward of Hokitika and Timaru, and isouth-westerly winds elsewhere. The barometer is due to rise everywhere soon, but only temporarily in the south.
