Mrs L. J. Moore, of Oviugdoan, who has been spending a few weeks in Wellington, returned to Masterton last evening. A gift tea was held at the residence of Mrs R. E. Jones in Renalistreet, Masterton, yesterday afternoon, in aid of the funds of St .Matthew's" Church. There was a large gathering of ladies, and quite a number of useful articles were received. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs Jones. Mrs R. W. Tate, of Greytown, who has been on a short visit to Wellington, returned yesterday. ! Miss Veda Hulse, Greytown, is on a visit to Wellington, and is staying at the Windsor.
