ACTION BY PARLIAMENT.
Sir Joseph Ward is to be commended upon the eminently practical suggestion he made in the House of Representatives yesterday for dealing witb \he extraordinary crisis that has arisen in the Dominion. The Prime Minister stated that he would he. pleased to consider., the "suggestion that a Select Committee, representaboth sides of the House, be set up to devise legislative or other means for restpring industrial peace He said that Cabinet had already discussed the 'question of introducing special legislation. It is gratifying to find that both political recognise thalt a situation lias arisen which is of national importance, and that, failing an immediate settlement, it is the "' duty of Parliament, without considerations for. party, to come,to" the rescue of the: people''who are. being made innocent sufferer^
