WEDDING.
RICHARDS —SMITH. A pretty and interesting wedding was solemnised in St. Matthew's Church, Masterton, yesterday, the contracting parties being Miss Elsie Richards, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs E. Richards, Cole Street, and Mr Clarence Charles Smith, son of the late Mi- C. A. Smith and Mrs Smith, of Masterton. The bride, who was given, away by her father, looked charming in-a dress of white charmeuse satin, beautifully trimmed with lace, with train lined with pink ninon, and wearing the orthodox veil and orange blossoms. The bride was attended by Misg Olive Richards (sister) as bridesmaid, who was prettily attired .in a dress of champagne santoy, with lace coat, with sash of flame shade, and wearing a pretty crinoline hat ;do match. The bridegroom was attended by Mr L. Niool, Masterton, as best .man, and the officiating clergyman was the Rev. H. Watson, St. Matthew's.
After the ceremony a reception was held at the Exchange Hall, where some sixty guests, hailing from various parts of the Wairarapa and Manawatu districts, were entertained, by tlio parents of the bride. A large number of toasts were honoured, all the speakers testifying to the esteem in which the happy couple are held by a large circle of friends. Amongst those present were: Mrs E. Richards (mother of the bride), grey satin charmeuse, with hat to match, trimmed with violet; Mrs C. A. Smith, black satin charmeuse; Mrs N. Miller, mole, trimmed with satin; Mrs W. Taylor (sister of bridegroom), cream ninon and black hat; 'Mrs Keedwell, Levin, grey silk; Mrs Grcathead, black and white voile, trimmed with black and old gold; Miss Miller, champagne trimmed with lace; Mrs C. King, pretty White embroidery with coatee ; Mrs C. Cowpeiy green voile; Mrs H, Greathead, Eketahuna, brown whipcord costume; Mrs Edgar Richards, Hutt, grey costume; Mrs Rees, Greytown, vieux rose and black; Miss Buck, cream voile; Miss Wendon, Greytown, cream costume; Mrs Kendall, lyivy blue costume; Mrs I). Jackson,- broivyn dress; Mrs Hugo, blue : sajfin Jkfiss Taylor," Bea.ujtoaris r , white; , 'JMiss Hatch, tailor%a*lG costume""Mrs Ralph, Mrs Humphries (Greytown), Misa Cole, Mis 9 Burnett, Mrs and Missu Jones, Mrs Clarke, Mrs Moore, Mrs Pragnell, Mrs Ste-mpa, and others'.
A very large number of handsomfi presents were received by tho happy coluple, and included a number of cheques, and also valuable presents from the Amateur Operatic Society and the staff of the W.F.C.A. (Greytown). Mrs and Mrs Smith, who will have their future home at Eketahuna, left by motor car for Napier, where the honeymoon-will bo spent.
