THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURE!.

AN EXCELLENT PROGRAMME.

Both Saturday sessions saw crowded audiences at the T.P. Electric Theatre. For the evening change the latest Dusko release was screened in "No Finer Death," which was a very Jino military episode during the Franco-Prussian war, and showed a situation where personal feeling ancl patriotism came in conflict. A very popular drama was shown in the Lubin Company's "Tho Faith of a Girl." Laura, Mills was married to James Farley. They had just arrived at the hotel on their honeymoon, when two detectives arrest Jim for being connected with a "confidence job" pulled off fcix months before. Laura returns homo. Her parents renounced Farley, and Laura, refusing to hear a word against her husband. leaves the house and seeks employment. She obtained U position in the office of .Richard Star ley. Jhe work was enjoyable, and she paid weekly visits to her husband in jail. Sturley falls in love with Laura and proposes to secure a divorce for her if slw would marry him, ' but she would not listen to him. A fire broke out in the jail, everybody rushing for safety. Jim endeavour's to rescue the warden's boy, who is in danger, but both are overcome with the flames and smoke. They are picked up by the guards unconscious and taken to the hospital, where they remain, till convalescent. Jim is released for his act of bravery, and husband and wife are united once more. Several very fine supporting dramas included "The Blacksmith's" Story," "The Fight for Right" and "The Cloak of Guilt." The scenics, included "Picturesque Romp" and "N.S.W. Boy Scouts." A strong coterie of comedies were, shown in "Toothache," "Heat Brokers," "Diddum's Tricks," "Dupin's Coat" and "The Tattle Battle." This well varied series will be screened again this evening.

TOWN HALL PICTUREB. "TEST OF FRIENDSHIP." The Saturday night's entertainment at the Town Hall was one of the best yet presented by the Masterton Picture Company. The chief item, "The Test of Friendship,'' wais received with the greatest applause, audi undoubtedly this feature is cne of the very finest films ever shown in Masterton. The story is brirofu, of interest, and fairly bristles wi T h thrilling and dramatic episodes. The whole tale is full of human interest and should be witnessed by everyone desirous of enjoying a first-rate cinematograph drama. The main feature is backed! up by a series of high-class films, including a rare vaudeville act by Ellaline Terrisis and Seymour Hicks. "The U.S.S. Ferry Boat Wahine" makes a fine film from an educational point of view. "The Golden Wedding" is a first-class dramatic production containing much that is of human interest, while "The Oil Industry" must be regarded as one of the most educating films yet submitted to a Masterton audience. "The School Principal" and a number of other interesting productions make up an excellent programme. Candy's Orchestra is responsible for excellent music, which adds greatly to the general excellence of the extertainment which will be shown again' this evening.
