IN'THE MATTER OF "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," arid of "The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1908," and the Acts amending the same respectively. rFHE COUNCIL OF THE BOR--1 OUGH OF MASTERTON HEREBY GIVES PUBLIC NOTICE that such Council proposes to raise a Special Loan of Sixteen Thousand Five Hundred Pounds (£16,500) for the PURPOSES OF AUGMENTING & EXTENDING THE EXISTING WATER SUPPLY of the Borough of Masterton AND in pursuance thereof and in connection therewith to lay down and construct an eighteen inch main from the Lower Intake to the existing Reservoir* to lay down and construct a twelve incli Carryng Main from the Reservoir to the junction of Pownall-street and Renallstreet within the said Borough; to lay down and construct or extend water mains in. or to such roads or vstreets within the said Borough as are not now served with water; and generally to carry out such works as may be hecqssary to complete the, reticulation of the said Borough for the purposes of Water Supply; AND for the' repayment thereof to make an an-nually-recurring Special Rate not exceeding 3.25 d in tlio # on the Annual Value of all Rateable property in the Sflict Borough for Tlio purpose of providng the required security to meet And «nWngJiufl<J. charges during the currency of x-ne £ ai d It is pr.6po.sed to pay out of tue loan moneys the cost of raising the lomi and the first year's interest of the loan during the construction of the said works, and a sum not exceeding Two Hundred and Fifty Pounds (£250) for surveys and other preliminary expenses incurred in connection with the scheme for which the loan is raised. * Datev this 23rd day of October, 1913. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT at a Special Meeting of the Masterton Borough Council, held on Tuesday, September 23rd, 1913, it was resolved as follows: WHEREAS the sum .of Two Thousand Pounds (£2000), borrowed by the Masterton Borough Corporation for the purpose of widening Bannis-ter-street, was due and payable on the 28th day of August. 1913. AND WHEREAS ' the Sinking Funds in respect of the said loan amount to only Three hundred and Twenty-two six shillings and threepence (£322 Gs 3d) and the sum of; ono Thousand six hundred and seventy-seven pounds 'thirteen shillings and ninepence (£3677 13s9d) is required to pav off the saitl loan NOW THEREFORE the Masterton Borough • Council in 1 exercise of the powers'vested in it in that behalf by "The Loeal Bodies "Loans Act, 1908" hereby resolves by way of Special Order— FIRST.—To borrow the said sum of One thousand six hundred and seven-ty-seven pounds thirteen shillings and ninepence (£1677 13s 9d) for the purpose of paying off the said loan. SECOND.—That the said sum of One thousand six hundred and seven-ty-seven pounds thirteen shillings and ninepence (£1677 13s 9d) shall be repayable on the 28th day of, August, 1923! or such other earlier date as may be determined by the Council. THIRD.—That for the purpose of providing for the payment of the said sum of One thousand six hundred and seventy-seven pounds thirteen shillings and ninepence (£1677 13s 9d), interest, sinking fund, and other charges thereon, the said Council will appropriate and pledge a Special Rate of Nine Sixty-fourths part of a penny in the pound (£,) upon the Rateable unimproved value of all rateable property in the Borough of Masterton, comprising that part of the said Borough, formerly included in and known as the East and West Wards thereof, and more 'particularly described in , the schedule hereto, and that such Special Rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of the loan, payable half yearly on the first day of February and first day of August in each year during the currency of the loan, being a period of Ten (10) years, or such shorter period as may be determined bv the Council, or until the Loan is fully paid off.
