INVERCARGILL, Last Night,

The possibility of strike extending to Southland is being discussed by the watersiders at the Bluff. They are not affiliated with the Federation of Labour, and so far have not shown a disposition to "strike. The Nightcap miners, however, are affiliated and if they cease work 'there would be a danger of a coal famine. The gasworks have seven weeks reserve coal, but the tramways are not too well provided.
