His Lordship .the Bishop of Wellington will hold a confirmation service at Mangataxnoka on Monday, jNovember 10th. A; London cable states that Colonel Jtobin, on the eve of his return to New Zealand, was banquetted by the officers of King Edward's Horse. Mr J. B. Henry, manager of the Masterton branch of the Bank of .New Zealand, will leave next week on a furlough of five weeks. During his absence, Mr F. A. Macßean, of .Wellington, will be acting manager «£ the Bank. The remains of the lat© Mr George Simpson were interred at Te Wharau yesterday. The funeral cortege comprised a large number of settlers of the district. The ceremony at the grave was performed by Mr M. J. McGregor 3 of Hikorangi.
