Tlio weather that prevailed for the "People's Day" of the WairArapa A. and P. Society's show yesterday was all that could be desired. The attendance, in consequence, was a record for the Society. It is estimated that nearly 10,000 .persons passed through the gates. The officials were very diligent, and the whole arrangements passed off without a hitch. Much interest was centred in the ring events, the leaping competitions being keenly contested. The grand parade of stock was also a feature of the afternoon, the procession, marshalled by Mr W. It was remarked by a great many of the visitors to the show that the exhibition of fat cattle, dairy stock, and fat sheep was an eye-opener. Few could imagine it possible that such a large entry could be got together of high-class stock.

. • For the special prize awarded for the girl tinder 17 years of age obtaining the most points in the industries section, Misses N. Harvey, Carterton, and D. Humphries, Carterton, tied for first place with 7 points each.. The Licensed Victuallers' Silver Challenge Cup for the highest aggregate grading points in the cheese classes was won by the Taratahi Company with 283 i podnts,_ Belvedere Company feeing second with 282.
