TO CHRIST'S FOLLOWERS.
THE RUSH FOR PLEASURE,
(Received October 22, 8.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, October 22.
The new president of the Congregational Union (Rev. Mr Reyjaolds), in his presidential address, said never had there been greater excitement Lor a wilder rush for pleasure;. , tfceojtwism, materialism, ,:.:and * indifference 1 were so rife > around them, thai' • the sounded a reveille to Christ's followers. He recognised that it was go-, in'g to be a large problem. When he looked ; around, and saw selfish indulgence, in pleasure, the choice of what may be good instead of the best, the common disregard of religious, and sometimes moral, duty for pleasure's, sake, he wondered what the fruit of this would procure in.the next generation. ■
