The'rtrial of Francis Shackleton (a "brother of Sir Ernest Shackleton, and formerly of the Dublin Castle etaff> and Thomas Garlick (an accountant) on a charge of, conspiring to defraucf Miss JofrephraV Browne of the sum of £12,000, ha&Tlegu©. In her evidence Miss Browne admitted that she had had affection for Shackleton like that of a mother.
