There was a pitched battle at Marcilia between rival gipsy tribes over iihe pmofitsl from the sale of mules and donkeys, men and women participating. The onlookers wisely refrained from interfering. There' was knife play, tie agility displayed by the fighters being remarkable. Two were killed and nine wounded in ha 3£ an. (hour's battle. The Civil Guard then appeared, and charged with fixed bayonet*, stopping the fight. They arrested twenty men and fifteen women.
