He' will receive, medical treatment there, prior to appearing before a magistrate on irenumd,- at Ashburton next Tuesday. On Monday morning a crowd of peopie had assembled at the Courthouse expecting; to see Biddle charged, but. as he was in a weak state., ie was , brought before the Justices at the .- police station. This morning an even, larger crowd, full of morbid curkwity, assembled at the courthouse, expecting that the inquest, at which Biddle had to attend, would eventuate . there. The prisoners, weakness, however, made it necessary to hold/ the inquest at the police station, and the curious ones were again foiled, „, Many were determined to see however, and a rumour of his impending removal attraoted them to the railway station in large numbers. The police easily f them by bringing Biddle up in> motor car at the last moment, and bustling him into* an inconspicuously 1 reserved compartment at the end ,of train, and opposite to what been expected. They drew tjhe blinds just as the vanguard of the disappointed ones came along the platform with a rush.
