It is understood that tender of a Port Chalmers syndicate (known as th© Koputai Syndicate) has been Accepted for the salving of the gear and cargo of the wrecked steamer Tyrone. R. The terns of the tender, it is said, are that the salvagers will receive- about three-quar-ters oFThe net value of whatever' is saved Trom the vessel. 1 The sea is gradually accomplishing its work of destruction. All the cabins and doors on the starboard slfle have been stove in and the sea has started to rip o|f.. the hatches at the hatchways of Nos. 1, 2, and 3. The waves are to be seen washing up on the deck, and then finding their way dowax the hatchways into the holds. This afternoon thirteen officers (deck and engine room) and nineteen seamen from the Tyrone sailed by the Mbnowai for Wellington, where they will embark- op the Ruapehu for London. Cantab Tkjaumont (superintendent of Morcapfte Marine) has been very busy in the past few days arranging their passages. When London is reached the officers and men will be distributee! to their homes by the Board of Trade.
