BOXING.
TO-MORROW'S TOURNAMENT
Everything points to a particularly good evening's sport for those attending to-morrow night's boxing tournament, and latest iiews to hand would suggest that the professional contest between the Ney Zealander, Denny MHrrphy, and the American, Pitto Chapman, for the welter-weight championship of the Dominion and a purse of £SO. will be of a somewhat sensational character. Despite Murphy's Brilliant record"as a boxer," local opinion favours the challenger's chances on account of his absohite disregard for punishment, ooupled with' - the heavy punching qualities of either" hand, and it is safe to predict one of the fastest contests that has yet been witnessed in the Wairarapa since the introduction of boxing. The amateur bouts will be of the healthiest description, as every man engaged has stuck to his training with very commendable diligence, and the local lads Olsen, Mexted and Prechner may be safely relied upon to keep the Masterton Club's colours flying. Doors' will open at 7.30 p.m. sharp. . The booking office at the London and Continental Piano Company's premises is now open, and seats should be reserved quickly to avoid disappoint-nent.
