PALMERSTON SHOW.
• jgjiV-.T.Y„—ry, ■ ' An event of primary importance to agricultural and pastoral interests in the Dominion is the big show winch takes place in Palmerston Nortll 6n November sth, 6th and 7th next, and our correspondent writes that preparations for same are uonv in progress. The large amount of prize { money and trophies approximating £2300 is largely responsible for the keen interest being displayed. Thatthe Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Committee back up their honours with something more than mere prize tickets and cetrificates is indicated by the above figures. The space .bookings are unusually heavy this year, particularly in the machinery and implement'division. This is a good sign which will gladden the hearts of many settlers who often wait for their visit to the show before making a choice of their implements. The Kennel Club Committee has had many inquiries 1 "> the dog .schedules from all over the Dominion, and as a consequence are anticipating full benches". The separation of the draught horses into three divisions, viz., draughts, Clydesdales and working draughts, is an innovation hitherto untried, and the experiment is looked forward to with interest amongst draught horse breeders. Thero are many other items v liich attract attention, but through all the programme the word "progress" is written, and to tlio.se of our readers who have not these semi-national functions, we sav. see the one next month and you will j not regret it. j
