UNHAPPY DUBLIN.

THOUSANDS FACING STARVATION.

A TERRIBLE PICTURE.

(Receiver October 8, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, October 7.

Terrible pictures are drawn of the misery in where one hundred thousand persons are facing starvation.

Failure of the negotiations between the employers and the men has destroyed the hope of early relief, though it is believed the employers will reassemble to-morrow, and may abate their demands. Meanwhile, throngs of men, women, and children, ill-clad, rain-soaked, and half-starved attend at Liberty Hall to receive rations.

The Miners' Federation has voted £IOOO weekly during the lockout.

FINAL CONSIDERATION OF SIR G. ASKWITH'S SCHEME.

A TRUCE DEMANDED

(Received Last Night, 10.30 o'clock.) • , LONDON, October 8.

The Dublin employers will finally consider Sir George Askwith\s scheme at the end of the week.- **

A meeting of citizens at the Mansion House demanded a truce, otherwise the trade of the city would be ruined.
