LONDON, October 7
Sir Edward Carson and Mr F. E. Smith conferred with Mr Bonar Law regarding the Ulster situation. The Right Hon. R. McKenna, speaking at Pontypool, declared that to grant a conference on the Home Rule question meant a pointless procrastination, when one party only advanced a direct negative to the Government's proposals. Sir Edward Carson wanted a privileged minority to dictate the laws of the country. The Government was not going to submit to minority rule or anarchy. THE PRIME MINISTER. ARRIVES AT~BALMORAL. (Received Last Night, il.lo o'clock.) LONDON, October 7. The Higlit Hon. H. H. Asquith has arrived at Balmoral Castle.
