OPERA COMPANY STRANDED

LONDON, October 7
A sensation* has been caused in mueical circles by the stranding of the Denhof Grand Opera Company, of two hundred performers, in Manchester, after a three weeks' provincial tour. Denhof, in an interview, said that most people preferred the cheap music, halls, and were unwilling to pay to hear good music. It was necessary, therefore, to confine grand opera to London.
