LIQUOR IN NO-LICENSE DISTRICTS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —1 see 'by this morning's paper returns showing that the quantity of liquor impwtftd into Mastcrton during the past year totalled 23,943 gallons. Already some people are working on these figures, am! say that it f is scandalous for such a large quantity to be consumed amongst only •'OOO people, and that it is evidence to show th'e failure of no-license. So I would like you, if possible, to tell us what the returns were for the last year of. licenses, so these people can satisfy themselves one way or the other. Thanking you for the space. —I am, eto., .'v,,./'.:!-; MODERATE DRINKP]R. ' Masterton, October 7. 1913. [There is no means of ascertaining what quantity of liquor was consnmprior to No-Hcense. —Ed. Age.]
