PRETTY HANDS.
Very often a good cleansing cream will answer all. purposes when the face or bands need washing,.and sometimes, after'tho cleansing cream-has been applied," l well rubbed into the skin and wiped off with absorbent CQtton or a piece of soft linen, one is astonished at the amount of dusb that has been removed. A good recipe for such a cream is to melt in a dish, which has been set in a, pan of boiling water, one ounce each of spermaceti and white wax, add four ounces of oil of sweet almoiids mix tho melted spermaceti until all are blended, then pour the result into a porcelain bowl and beat steadily until it is smooth and creamy. Mix in one drachm of tincture of 'benzoin, a few drops at u time, and lastly add four ounces of rosewater. Put it into wide-mouthed bottles with screw to"ps. A - pair of loose chamois leather glooves can be worn for many household duties, in this way saving the hands from much dirt and soil, and there is nothing better than the gloves of chamois skin to wear at night, after applying tho massage cream or bleaching paste that is liked to tho inside of the gloves. Be sure that tho gloves are bigger than the usual size you wear if you want the best results. When tho nails are extremely brittle, soak the finger ends for tea minutes twice a week in warm olive oil.. Avoid the use of strong cleansing agents or acids. Apply a little cold cream two or three times a day, and use cold cream before washing tho hands.
