KAISER TAKES CHARGE.
A THREATENED STORM
Received' This Morning, 12.5 o'clock BERLIN, October 6.
The Kaiser has returned, i'rom a jffi l e-weeks' holiday at Potsdam, to take personal charge of the Guelph situation. He Sent Herr von Beth-man-Hollweg to Munich to confer with the Regent of Bavaria, whosie mediation with tlie Duke of Cumberland Ms sought. Meanwhile no announcement has been made as to the Prussian Government's policy. Public opinion unalterably opposes the Guelphs assuming the rule of Brunswick until they explicitly renounce the Hanover title.
The Nationalist press threatens the Kaiser with a storm, which will reduce that of Novembeij 1908, to the' dimensions of a summer zephyr. t ' A senji-ofljeial .communication describes Prince Ernest's attitude as utterly opposed .to. the Guelph machinations, and states that the Prince is coming to Potsdam this week. The Daily Mail's Berlin correspondent states that the Prussian Court is less anxious to act hastily, because through the recent disappointment of the Kaiser's daughter, the question of succession is less acute than it would otherwise have been.
