SOLTANO WINS STAKES.

The feature of the day was Sol•tano's performance, : as; from the' barrier rise the issue was beyond doubt. Results:—

Metrepolitim "Handicap.—Cagou 1. Alured 2, Aurifer 3. Thirty-three started. . Cardonia, Beragoon, Zeus, Woolerina and Valido were It was a fine race. Cagou, the winner, was always prominent, and won without, whip or ' spur. Emperador (C. Emerson) was among the leaders right to the straight entrance, after which the severe pace told and he faded out. . Won by five lengths with one length separating second and third.
