W Mr T. C. Webb, Inspector of Noxious Weeds, has addressed the following letter to the Masterton Borough Council: — "Would you kindly bring under the notice of your Borough Council the fact that weeds of all kinds, noxious and others, are carted out of the borough and shot out on the fyaipoua riverbed, and the first fresh tak£s them d&wn the river to properties below, and some of-v them take root in the river bed.. The weeds I notice most are 'Foxglove,' 'Oxeye daisy' and 'blue weed' (vipers bluegloss) and these are Yery dangerous, weeds to pastures and crops. I my-
self last spring pulled up several of these weeds from among * rubbish on the river bed which have been carted out with other garden weeds. The 'foxglove' has been adopted .by the Masterton County Council as a noxious weed, but your council has not as yet adopted it, and it is U) be seen growing fh many gar...i densin.Mastejrtoii, l( ftnd is sent out. 1 with other weeds and becomes very dangerous. I trust your council will take, steps to prevent the practice. The weeds could be burnt, or otherwise destroyed." I
