Turner, late engineer of the Montezuma, Ltd., was on a visit to Masterton yesterday, and a representative of the Age took the opportunity of interviewing him in regard to the future prospects of the oompany, Mr Turner stated that after nine months work on the claim, erecting the plant, and trying the ground, he ia fully convinced that with economical working, payable results may be confidently expected. The machinery, is erected, and in good working order, and tlhe gold saving taibleei specially designed for treating the gold bearing black sands, have proved themselves entirely efficient. \ Various vexatious delays, due to breakages, continued bad weather, and other difficulties incidental to the opening up of a new proposition, have postponed the commencement of actual operations. With the addition of extra boiler power, which it is understood the directors are now proriding for, and economical management, the success of the company's operations should be assured, and the dividend-paying stage may reasonably be expected at an early date.
