-Mr"A. Tunnicliffe, son of Mr C Tunnicliffe, of Dalefield, left Carterton on Friday for New Britain,, via Auckland and Sydney; He is to take up the work of missionary among the natives of that country. On Thursday evening his friends and old school—fellows assembled, at his fathers residence to bid Trim "God bpeed in Ms mission. The teachers of the Sundayschool where he was nrst a scholar and afterwards a, teacher for many yeans, took the opportunity to make a presentation of a -Bible commentary as a token of esteem and appreciation, the superintendent voicing fße wish of all preV 6 ® Mm saf elj among »nTi t y o ar or two, and taking: up his work m, his native Tand onet more. At Dalefield on Thursday evening & complimentary ball was tendered to the Wairarapa ladies* hockey team winch won the recent tournament at Wanganui. Some sixty couples were present, and an enjoyable time was spent m dancing to the music supplied by Mr and Mrs W. Sorensen (piano and violm) and Mr Adams (piccolo). Mr It J. Gayfer was M.C. and the catering arrangements were carried out by Mr P. Sorenzen. of Carterton.
