LONDON PORT.

It ia interesting to note that the London Port Authority is sending a representative to New Zealand to tell ,ua what is being done, and what it is proposed to do, to improve the methods of handling Dominion produce at the port of London. Appeals haye been made again and again for better treatment of our produce. But when Sir Walter Buchanan went Home last year, he found things in a deplorable condition. Mr Lysnar, of Gisborne, acting for the Producers' Association, warned the Port Authority of I/ondon that unless it amends the trade would be diverted. The- warning was- unheeded!, And now that the Bristol and Dominions Assdciation lias ber-n formed/ and a large portion of our trade is going to the West of England, the Port Authority is kicking itself and sending out a; commissioner post haste to tell tis that it is very, very sorry for its sins of omission, but if it is forgiven this time it will not do it again;. We fear, however, that it is too late. The producers of tlie overseas Dominions 'have been trifled with far too long, and they have resolved that they will take the distributing bull 1 by the horns and save the London middleman from further anxiety in the matter.
