MIKI MIKI NOTES.
A PLEASING FUNCTION. Our Own Correspondent. The residents of Mt Bruoe and Miki Miki paid a well-deserved compliment on Tuesday afternoon to.Mr and Mrs Tankersley and family, who are leaving the district. ►A social afternoon was .held in the school-jwxm, and was well attended by some very old settlers. Speeches were made by Messrs T. Wyeth, E. Payton and Q. Bruce in appreciation of the services rendered by-Mr and Mrs Tankersley, j and their excellent qualities. Mr I Wyeth, on behalf of the residents, l presented Mr and Mrs Tankersley j with a silver-mounted walking stick, j travelling rug and travelling bag J (suitably engraved). The Sunday school children also presented Mrs Tankersley with a pretty flower bowl. Mr Tankersley, in responding, said he would, never forget the kindness of the people and the happy days he had >. spent in their company. Afternoon tea was partaken of, and a most enjoyable time was spent by all present.
