This production is one of the host works of the Vitagraph Company. "Matches" is another fine film, felling of three couples and their love affairs'; the rich widow and the widower, the widower's daughter and the millionaire, and the chauffeur aristocrat and the widow's daughter. An unusual farce much good, natural Inn, and pleasant intrigue- arises from the many situations worked into the piece. "One Life tvv Another" is a powerful Urban drama. A small detachment of the American army is engaged in quelling an Indian rising. Arizona Bill enlists, and is sent to the headquarters with a letter asking for reinforcements. Ho is attacked and taken prisoner by the Indians. Betty, Billy's wife, seeing his' riderless home, has g*ave fears for Bill. In the saddle pocket she finds a letter, ! and determines to finish Bill's mission herself. Next day a determined at- i tack is made on the Indian camp, bait on drawing near the soldiers are i horrified to see their comrade Bill strapped to a post, with arms outstretched, in front of the camp, while the red men crouch behind their human shield and take careful aim at the ( sranks of the army. Betty plans,to kidnap the chief's son, and hold him as a hostage. Disguised as a squaw, she carries off the child, leaving the message, "Your kid for my Bill.'' At day-break, seeing the message, White Cloud, the chief, sees he has been beaten by a woman's wit, and\surrenders. The baby is returned and Bill and Betty are re-xmited once more.
