HALL CAINE'S NEW BOOK. 'Times' — 'Sydney Sun' Special Cables. (Received Sept. 30, 8.30 a.m.) ' LONDON, Sept. 29, Father Bernard Vaughan denounced Mr Halt Caine',s book, "The Woman Thou Gavest Me." He said the book showed startling ignorance of Catholic doctrine and practice". The scandals mentioned might aid the sale of the book, but did not support the contention ef the writer that he was a friend and admirer of Oatiholics. The scenes with the nuns, said Father Vaughan, were too impossible even to be humorous.
