THE W.F.C.A.

The shareholders who „ attended the annual meeting of the Wairarapa Farmers' 'Co-operative Association in Masterton yesterday were evident', v well satisfied with the past year's operations, notwithstanding the fact that the anticipations of the Managing Director had not been fully realised. It is quite true, as Mr M. Casel berg pointed dut, that the unsettled state of Europe has been reflected upon the markets of the world, and the results havo not been all that could have been desired. In view of this fact and the tightness of money that has prevailed, the operations of the Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association, which has been enabled to declare a dividend equal to nine per cent., and place a substantial sum to the reserve, must be regarded as eminently satisfactory. It is in times of stringency that managerial; diplomacy is required, and the W.F.C.A.- is fortunate in that it has a diplomat at the head of ita affair*. The outlook for the future wauld seem ta be very bright, fsr the war cloud ha<s lifted, the markets are coming back, and money for development purposes is easier. With tit" exceptionally favourable season that is being experienced, the future of trade in the Wairarapa should be assured.
