FEDERAL RECEIPTS.
ALARMING DECREASE. • .(Received Sept. 27, 8.40 ajb.) MELBOURNE, Sept, 27. The Federal receipts for- the first three months of the financial year show an alarming compared with the corresponding period, of 1912. The ■expected •' falling-off in the revenue from sugar alone will be half a million for the year. The Customs and Excise duties for July and August were £12,600 less than for the same period of 1912, and went down by £70,000 in the first week of September as compared with the same week in 1912.
