FOOTBALL.
J TQ-DAY'S MATCH. This afternoon the curtain will be rung down on'the 1913 season of the Wairarapa Rugby Union, with a contest between the local representatives and the elect of Wellington. The match is generally regarded as the most important game of the year as far as the Wairarapa is concerned. Of Mite years the men from the plains have generally given the city men a hard task to defeat them. This year the form of the local men has been so consistent in matches played at home that'they are naturally expected, to make . a big bid for victory to-day. The team is exactly the same as that f. which administered defeat' to Wangamii'A week ago, and if they repeat the form of that match they are sure to take a power of beating. The Wellington ,team lookß,, on paper, very formidable, and with such men as-the Ryan brothers, Kinvig, McLeod, the Patons, and Miller, will prove a strong combination. The ground is on the hard side, but ' should be/ctmducive to a fast and interesting game. Indeed, the match' should result in as fine a display of Rugby as has been witnessed in Masterton for/ some time. Mr E.-Mckenzie will control the game. \ \
