ELOPMENT MADE EASY.
The rivalry of Magistrates who are authorised to add to their incomes by performing marriages is responsible for an amusing advertisement published in Cincinnati. In an effort to extinguish all competition, Mr Mullen, a magistrate whoso speciality is to marry romantic couples who elope kito Kansas, announces a elidr ing scale of fees, ranging from 2s to £2. For the latter sum he advertises* "My motor car will meet couples at the railway station and whisk therii into the matrimonial parlour, where the bride-to-be will'find at her disposal a boudoir fully equipped with a French mirror, powder-puffs, perfumes, and hair curlers.. At a table latf-. en with fresh flowers ar phonograph will play a' wedding march while a photographer takes a, snapshot of the wedding'scene. All couples availing themselves of the two-guinea rate will be furnished with photographs neatly framed, and will bp provided after the ceremony with a luxurious breakfast and a handsomely embossed marriage certificate.
