TREATMENT OF NATIVES. SPEECH BV GENERAL BOTHA. (Received Last Night, 10.15 o'clock.) CAPETOWN/. Sept. 25. General Botha, speaking at W&kkerstroom, said he'did not believe in ruling .natives with the sjambok. The natives had no direct representation in Parliament, and, as far as he was concerned, they never would. It therefore behoved the whites to treat them with justice, firmness, and honesty of purpose. Mr Botha announced the forthcoming reduction of £SOO a year in each Minieter's salary. The meeting "condemned General, Hertzog's attitude.
