Garros' Mediterranean flight, and regard it as A? definite triumph for French aviators. A subscription has been opened to commemorate the event. It has been suggested that the Legion of Honour should be conferred on M. Garros. SAFETY OF FLYING. STATEMENT BY M. PEGOUD. ' (Received Lnsl, Night, lO.ir, o'clock.) LONDON, Sept. 24. The aviator M. Pegoud, on being welcomed' to London, declared that his wish was to prove that if pilots would keep cool when making a descent with a machine, there was no need to fear a mishap, and also to demonstrate tho safety of flying, if airmen would keep i<t a certain height.
