Although settlements have been effected in regard to the more serious strikes, tnei'o are still many sporadic ones over trivial causes, especially in the colliery districts, indicating general industrial unrest. Four thousand Ciydaeli Vale (Glamorganshire, Wales) colliers have struck over one of the company's -policemen making an investigation as to an alleged discrepancy regarding a mirfbr's pay-ticket. The unionists demand the officer's dismissal, alleging that the policemaji had made an improper suggestion during a visit he made to the miner's house. The-com-pany's refusal to dismiss him led to the mine being thrown idle.
