&WHAT DEMANDED INCREASES WOULD AMOUNT TO. 'Times'—-'Sydney Sun' Special Cables, (Received Sept. 24, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 23. The Postal authorities declare that the increases claimed by the staff would involve an additional expenditure of ten million pounds yearly. The board recommends an increase aggregating a million. It claims that 37s a week is ample pay for a postman in London after ten years' service, and that a forty-eight hours' week is a fair tlbing.
