PASTORAL LEASES.
COMPENSATION FOR IMPROVEMENTS. (By Tdtaravh. —Prest Auociation.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. The following resolution was (carried at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Shemowners' Federation today:— * That the attention of the Minister for Lands be again directed to the unsatisfactory position of compensation for improvements in cases where runs arc not again let on pastoral lease, and especially in regard to surface sowing, cannot be removed, as other improvements can be, under the existing law. The Federation is of opinioti that all improvements should be placed on the .same footiitg as rab-bit-proof feneing.
