TRAGIC AFFAIR.
FATHER SEES HIS SON KILLED. DAUGHTER DROWNS HERSELF
- 'Sydney Sun' Special Cables. (Received Sept. 18, 8.30 a.m.) BERNE, Sept. 17. An orchestra conductor was crossing Lake Lucerne in a isteamer to attend a rehearsal. The vessel collided with «. skiff containing his son and daughter. The son was crushed and killed, %ut the girl was saved. The father, frantic with grief, had to be bound with ropes to prevent him committing suicide, and while the passengers were attending to him the girl recovered consciousness, sprang -overboard, and was drowned.
