TO-DAY'S WEATHER.
NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological office, last evening wired as follows: — A squall area of moderate intensity has passed in the south, and strong northerly winds have prevailed, but with a westerly tendency to-day. Changeable .and squally conditions have ruled, especially in and southwards of Cook Strait, and rain has fallen in the high country and west; era districts. Present indications are for strong westerly weather generally. Squally and showery southwards of New Plymouth and Napier, but there are indications for a temporary improvement soon. The barometer has still a falling tendency generally, but rising temporarily in the SOU&.
