THE NECKLACE ROBBERY.

PARCEL FOUND IN A GUTTER

(Received September 17, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, Sept, 16. There has been a further development in connection with the pearl necklace robbery. A man found fifty-eight ..of the missing pearls, which have been identified, in a parcel on the roadway at Highbury, a London suburb, where they had apparently been thrown.

FURTHER DETAILS. MAYER IDENTIFIES THE PEARLS (Received September 17, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 16. Two workingmen were walking along St. Paul's-road, Highbury, when they noticed a parcel in the gutter. They picked it up, and a pearl droppel out. The* police were informed and a jeweller called. The latter pronounced the contents of the parcel to be genuine pearls. Scotland Yard was then informed. It is believed the parcel was placed in the gutter purposely, to enable the pearls to be discovered. Mr Mayer identified the stones as belonging to the necklace. , - :
