SPANISH COLUMN DEFEATED

GIBRALTAR, Sept. 16. . A body of moors ambushed a Spanish column near Ceuta and inflicted* heavy losses, there being over one hundred casualties.

(Received Last Night, 11.55 o'clock.) GIBRALTAR, Sept. 16. General Arraiz .sent all the available troops to Ceuta to assist the Spanish column, but the reinforcements were, fiereey attacked, and ed to Retreat. The ilative iroopj fled and the regulars proved low-«pirited and unreliable. The Moors are jubilant, and are conferring witih Raisuli, who has threatened to attack Tetuan. Spain is sending reinforcements^ The war is unpopular in Andalusia.
