Miss McKnight, of Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs Stewart, of Essex-street. Mr and Mrs J. Elliott and Mr and Mrs H. T. Wood, of Masterton, motored through to Napier for a fortnight's holiday. A most enjoyable "surprise" party was given to Mrs W. Cruicketank one night last week, when dancing was. indulged in. Mrs TV. Cruickshank was wearing terra cotta satin with black and gold overdress-; Miss Cruickshank pink satin draped with white lace; Miss Bristow pink satin veiled with ninon; Miss Hirschberg champagne coloured net; Miss J. Russell pleated -white chiffon with touches of pale blue; Miss F. Perry cerise ninon gown. Others present were: Miss Z. Vallance, Misses Perry (2.), Miss Milne, Misses ,Collie (2), Miss P. Summerell, Miss Thompson, Miss Lewis and the Messrs G. Mawley, Mace, i). Mackersey, Ken Baird, O. Beetham, C. Bidwill, D. Collins, Milne, E. Sclanders, F. ,'ißeid, E. Chennells, C. Perry, D. 'Perry. Mrs Robey-Carter, of Oriental Bay, Wellington, has been speeding the past Week with Mrs Waddington. Mrs Hugh Williams," of Masterton, was visiting Wellington last week. Miss Jenkinson, of Wellington, has gone to Riversdale, where she will be the guest of her sister, Mrs W. Gordon Laing. Mrs A. V. Carsford, of Pahiatua, is at present visiting Wellington. .
