FIRST REVELATION.

PEARL NECKLACE ROBBERY. ACCUSED BEFORE THE COURT. (Received/ September 13, 10 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 12. The hearing of the case against Joseph, Grizard, Simon. Silverman, and Leisir Gutwirth (Austrian diamond dealers), John Lockett ler), and James McCarthy (aged 82 years), charged on remand with being concerned in the theft* of thd pearl necklace)- was continued at Bow-street Police Court. A feature of the evidence was the first revelation as to how the pearls were stolen.
Quadrenstein, who conducted the negotiations for the purchase of the pearls from Gutwirth, narrated how the latter, at one interview, had reported that the expenses in connection with the enterprise totalled £2400, including £IOO each for two postmen, hut he did not mention whether, were French or English. \ Gutwirth, said witness, added that Lockett, one of the accused, had charge of the pearls. , Quadrenstein further stated that Gutwirth told him that Lockett snached a bag of jewels from a man named.Goldschmidt at Cafe Monico on 2nd July, 1309. *-
