■ NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. . WELLINGTON, Last Night. " The Rev. D. 0. Bates, of the Meteorological office, last evening wired a«s follows: Heavy rain lias fallen in most part* of the country, with boisterous westerly winds, changing to southerly today in tho south. Electrical disturbances have boon experienced! in various parts of the South Island. The barometer has risen in the south, but has continued to Tall in the northern districts to-day. Present.indications are for high southerly winds everywhere, with cold squally and showery weather, but' a temporary improvement is probable soon. The barometer rising everywhere, but only temporarily in the south.
