DUBLIN TRAGEDY.
TENEMENTS HAD BEEN REPORTED ON.
(Received Sept. 5, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 4
A corporation inspector in July last directed that certain improvements be made to thei tenement houses that collapsed. The repairs were carried out. The accident is <likely to lead to an inqu : ry regarding the -Dublin slums, which areTthe worst in the United Kingdom. Twenty thousand families, approximately one-third of the population, are living in oneroomed "tenements.
A pathetic discovery was made in , £he ruins. The body of a little boy in a cot was found. There was a look of terror on the tear-stained face of the child. One hand was clasping the bed-clothes convulsively. The bo<ly was al*nost without a. bruise, and it is believed th© child diedPof suffocation. .
