CHURCH DAY SCHOOL.

TO BE FORMED IN MASTERTON. The following interesting item appears in the Church Magazine of this month:— Miss Hampton has decided,, for reasons of health, to give up the school for girls and young children that she has conducted for some years. Arrangements have been made to take over the school at the end y of the year and to carry on as a Church School. Miss WEJfehead, M.A., of Otago University, and Vho is at present on the staff of the Wellington Girls' College, has been appointed prihcipal,- and the ■ services of a teacher;, trained in kindergarten meI thods, will, if possible, be secured for the junior classes. [. Every effort will be" made to make the teaching of a high standard, and religious instruction will find a proper place in the time table. The fees will be kept as low as possible, and any profits will be used solely for the further development of the school. The school will be under the management of a* committee, consisting of Mrs Henry; Smith, principal of Chilton House Girls' School, Wellington, Mrs Hbsking, Mr Alex. J, Rutherford and the vicar; and Mr Walter Nops has kindly offered to act as honorary secretary. The full prospectus of the school will be issued shortly, and we wish the venture every success.
